In addition to collaborating with a diverse group of members across the U.S., NHC works closely with its regional affiliates to help advance policies related to affordable housing from one coast to the other.

The California Housing Consortium/CHC Institute

Founded in 1997, the California Housing Consortium/CHC Institute is a coalition of developers, lenders, state and local government officials, homebuilders, investors, property managers, residents, and housing professionals who share the common goal of expanding and improving affordable housing opportunities for all Californians.

Every spring, CHC hosts its annual Lobby Days, enabling California’s affordable housing advocates to meet with state legislators, discuss key issues and help prioritize initiatives. CHC also hosts an Annual Policy Forum and California Housing Hall of Fame Awards ceremony, where professionals from across the state attend to debate current policy issues facing California affordable housing, as well as to recognize and celebrate industry leaders.

The New York Housing Conference

The New York Housing Conference (NYHC) was established in 1973 to develop and advocate for affordable housing policies and programs at the federal, state and city levels. NYHC is a recognized leader in the housing community throughout New York and plays a key role in advancing essential low-, moderate- and middle-income housing programs locally and has gained enactment of major housing legislation.

Each December, the NYHC and NHC host the Annual Awards Luncheon, honoring those who have made New York a better place to live and work. As one of the largest gatherings of housing professionals in the nation, the event attracts more than 1,300 attendees each year.
